My wife and I have lived in Donelson for the past 8 years. I love this side of town! The older houses, large yards and affordable neighborhoods, they’re awesome! The only complain I have had about Donelson is restaurants and the lack there of, luckily downtown is not far away. Although there are not a lot of restaurants, one that is always good, there is always room and they are gluten free friendly now is Darfon’s on Elm Hill Pike. This is one of my favorite places. Their staff has always been great working with gluten free options but now they have made it official with all gluten free options marked with an * on their menu.
Darfon’s is great for any time of day and any price range. If you’re in the mood for a great burger (bunless for now but fingers crossed) at a good price or delicious filet mignon or just brunch on a laid back Saturday with $3 mimosa’s and $5 bloody Mary’s they have you covered. My two personal favorites (yes, because I can not choose) are the Cobb Salad, all the things I like about salad and none of that salady stuff and the new truffle oil black and bleu burger. If your wanting a little more, start off with the shrimp & grits app or the black bean-pepper jack cheese dip, you can’t go wrong with either of them.
Prices range from a $8 burger to a $25 steak and the service has always been spectacular when we’ve been, which is almost once a week. Enjoy!
