I don’t know why everyone insist on living the southern stereotype with fried foods! Being gluten free it gets really annoying. Taki is a great little sushi place in Hermitage in a little strip center that you would never expect to be good. The fish is fresh and always tasty. You will need to bring your own gluten free soy sauce and be sure to tell them to leave off the tempura flakes! Even the Philly role has them if you don’t ask.

Everything was great! The staff was very helpful in letting us know what we could order on the menu and even helped us change some menu items around to be gluten free. We had the new gilled artichoke without the bread crumbs and it was fantastic. Thanks to everyone at Maggiano’s for a great evening!

Meetings take up way too much of my time, but for the next 3 days I am stuck in one. you know, the ones where they bring lunch in and there is not a gluten free option in site. I have my backpack stuffed with Larabar cashew bars and fruit sticks. The fun part about it is everybody who plans these meetings knows I have to have a gluten free option but when it comes to ordering lunch, they never remember.

New Grist was my favorite and you could find it at Whole Foods and Frugal McDoogal’s, now you can’t find it anywhere. I saw it a month ago at Whole Foods and they raised the price to almost $10/ 6 pack. They have RedBridge now, which is OK I guess but definitely not worth $8. Anybody know where New Grist gluten free beer has gone in Middle Tennessee?
