I had a portabella mushroom sandwich and all I can say is wow! Don’t know which gluten free bread that they used but it was the best that I have had. I had a quinoa side that was also nice. I recommend trying it if you get. Chance!

I love sushi, but since I live in the south there is always one huge problem… Everything is fried or has tempura flakes in it. I don’t know why everyone insist on living the southern stereotype with fried foods! Being gluten free it gets really annoying. Taki is a great little sushi place in Hermitage in a little strip center that you would never expect to be good. The fish is fresh and always tasty. You will need to bring your own gluten free soy sauce and be sure to tell them to leave off the tempura flakes! Even the Philly role has them if you don’t ask.

They have items noted on their menu as GF for gluten frill along with some vegetarian offerings. For the first time in years I was able to eat chicken wings out. While not a huge fan wings, it always sucks when you a re told you can not have something! They were good for wings, but reminded me of why I don’t really like them. We had some sushi and a great shrimp dish. Give it a try!

Once a month my wife and I have to go to Lebanon, TN and stop in Mt. Juliet to eat at Fulin’s. The sushi there is always good and fresh. Because of the language barrier, I seem to have an issue every other time I go though. Being in the South, people love to fry everything, including sushi. Talk to your waiter before you order, they love to hide little crunchies in everything they fix.

Had dinner the other night at the Old Spaghetti Factory on 2nd Avenue in Nashville. We use to go there all the time when family was in town, the nephews always loved sitting in the caboose. Anyway, I heard they had a gluten free menu, but was still a little scared as I always am trying some place that is mainly gluten heavy. The staff was very helpful and I have to say it was some of the best damn gluten free pasta I have had. I highly recommend it.
